If you are starting the process of shopping for a grain mill, you know just how overwhelming it can be! When I started my fresh milled flour journey, I did not see many videos comparing all aspects of the grain mill. I ended up purchasing a WonderMill and have been very happy with it. When people ask me which one I recommend however, I only have the one mill to reference with nothing to compare it to! Lets see how the WonderMill vs. NutriMill compare!
If you’re new to fresh milled flour or unsure what this is, here is some more information to help you get started!

Comparing grain mills
I have 2 friends in my community who were nice enough to let me borrow their NutriMill classic and NutriMill Harvest Mill for an afternoon. I took the opportunity to film a 30 minute video outlining the components, size, features and logistics of each mill. Demonstrating how each worked by comparing the time it took to mill 1 cup of wheat berries, the temperature of the resulting flour and the varying textures of each.

Get started milling!
Mills: I ordered my mill from Pleasant Hill Grains and have really enjoyed it! Their customer service has been really great and I have called them on a couple different occasions and had my questions answered quickly. All of these mills are available on Amazon as well.
Grains: I order from Azure Standard or pickup from my local health food stores. Starting with a Hard white or red and Soft white will cover most of your basic recipes. Higher protein (Hard wheat) grains will produce your baked goods that need a gluten structure like breads while soft wheat and other lower protein grains are great for cookies and muffins.
